Today I would like to introduce you to a new blogger! Instead of hearing from me, this post is written by Courtney from Crafty College Lady. She is a Freshman in college with a passion for crafts and cute little Do-It-Yourself projects! Today she is going to talk about how to make an awesome collage out of magazines! So here we go:

DIY Inspirational Magazine Collage

DIY Magazine
I didn’t use to mind the blankness of my cinder block walls, but once I taped one of these babies on them, I can’t seem to stop trying to cover them up. Along with my wall words, these not only take up a lot of space, but are really easy and fun to do.

The supplies you need are a magazine, paper, scissors, and tape/glue. I suggest getting one of the large magazines that has a lot of pictures. They’re a lot better than the gossip magazines because these ones have so many pictures you can make at least two, if not three collages from these magazines. And they’re only about $5!

The next step is to go through the pages and cut out all the pretty pictures! I overcut around the pictures so I can go over them later and make them all pretty. I also cut too many pictures, that way I know my page will be full. Sometimes, you can pick a theme. My roommate made a collage out of pink and sparkly things a few weeks ago, and I’m totally jealous of how pretty it is.

Next, you cut the pictures all pretty and start arranging them around your paper. I always arrange the pictures before I start to glue/tape them down, that way I can get the most on one page that I can. Because I overcut the amount of pictures I need, I had a few that I couldn’t fit on there, but that’s okay. I put them in my smash book box, a box I keep all the pictures and pieces of paper I want to put in my smash book. After arranging, you can glue them down, or, like me, tape them down. When taping, you can just tape over the front so you can see the tape, or you can fold the tape and put it under the picture to get it to stick to the paper.

The last step is to display your beautiful piece of art proudly! I just added mine to my growing collection of collages that I will most definitely be using next year as well!

Thanks for having me!

I love this and wish I would have thought of something like this while I was still in the dorm! We had walls where even the paint was chipping, so I would have loved to have something to cover that up with. Maybe I can make something like this to decorate the frig in my apartment in the fall!
