October was crazy busy and is nearly over (happy early Halloween!) and it is time to do our monthly check-in.
This has been one busy October – and it feels like it went by so fast! Early October was packed full with my school’s Homecoming weekend. With a Homecoming dance, Homecoming football game (my first college football game!), fairs, festivals, and tons of friends it was a busy fun weekend. The highlight of my October so far!
With the middle of the semester have come midterm exams, projects, papers, and presentations. With that came me getting sick of course. I had to take two weeks off of school and work to recover from a nasty case of bronchitis which caused me to miss some school work and get behind in things that are important to me like writing on this blog. Luckily I am not at the tail end of that and feeling much better!
I think that the most difficult thing that I had to do this month was an impromptu speech for my Public Speaking class. My professor gave us a quote and 4 minutes to prepare a 5 minute speech on the spot. This freaked me out – it was so difficult. I did this while I was very sick and coughing up a storm – but it went surprisingly well! I felt like I was just repeating the same two lines over and over again, but apparently my professor loved it.
Just did an impromptu speech in my public speaking class and I’m 90% sure I just repeated the same two lines over and over again.. Help

1. The World Series
I’ve always loved baseball, and growing up in a Dodger family (GO BLUE) it’s only natural that I am obsessed with the World Series right now. Did anyone else see Game 5 last night? INSANITY!

P.S. For every re-tweet on that tweet above T-Mobile will give $2 to hurricane relief – go do it to help those in need!
2. Pros and Cons of Being Your Own Boss by Erica of Coming Up Roses
Erica’s posts about how she runs her blog as a full time business give me life, so naturally I was totally drawn into this “Pros and Cons of Being Your Own Boss” post. I’d call this a must read for anyone considering becoming their own boss.
Combat boots have always been a staple in my wardrobe, and with it finally getting to “fall weather” here in Southern California (within the last 2 days) it’s time to break out these bad boys again. Here are a few of my favorite boot styles right now:
