Last month, and the beginning of this month, was a little rough for me – so I unfortunately had to skip our monthly happening check-in for November.
Now with finals over (YES) I am ready to get back in the game and fill you in on what I’ve been up to!
Happening: November + December.
November started off rough. November 1st my boyfriend moved for a job which causes him to travel constantly and live on the road. He was gone for a month and a half and it was really hard on me. He is back for the holidays now (yay!) but after the new year he will be heading back on the road for about 4 more months.
School really picked up the last few weeks, as is expected with the end of the semester, and I really reached some end of the semester burn out. Luckily I powered through and am incredibly proud of how I did in my classes this semester!
Lastly, if you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed my Instagram story videos of me talking about the fires. There have been (and still are) a lot of fires in Southern California over the last few weeks. While I am safe personally, many of my friends have been evacuated from their houses and a few have lost their houses entirely. This, partnered with finals week, has been a lot to handle.
My first semester of my senior year of college is complete! One more semester and I will officially be a college graduate – I am so ready.
These last few months have been crazy busy, but it has paid off. My internship has been extended into the spring semester and I love it there.
My boyfriend is home for the holidays and life feels a little bit cozier and better with him here. I’m looking forward to being able to spend the rest of my winter break relaxing with him before classes start up and he leaves again.
Today we are also celebrating our 2 year anniversary together! Since I’ve known him for so long (we met back in middle school – about 9 years ago) and we were best friends for about 5 years before we started dating, it feels like we’ve been together so much longer than 2 years, but at the same time it feels like we started dating yesterday. I’m looking forward to a romantic dinner out tonight to celebrate with my love. (Aww, cheesy).
One more thing – early in December I officially stepped down from my position as President of my school’s Her Campus chapter. I started up this chapter my Freshman year of college and spent the last 3 years running it as President, and the last 5 months training the next Presidents to take over after me. This is incredibly bittersweet – as I am so ready to step down and relax a bit more my last semester of college, but also very sad to no longer be President. Luckily, the two ladies who I trained to take over for me as Co-Presidents are amazing and I am so excited to see what they do with this chapter!
1. Where I am After My First Semester of College by Keely Dolan
Keely is fairly new to the college blogging game, but has some amazing content out there. I actually go to school with her, and have loved how her blog has grown and transformed even from the short amount of time that I’ve known here! This post especially, which covers the lessons she has learned after going to college for one semester, is one of my favorites right now.
2. 28 Things I Wish I Could Tell My Younger Self by Endless Bliss
Another one of my favorite bloggers, Tiffany Khyla, wrote this heartwarming and honest list of things she wishes she could tell her younger self – and I love it!
Even though I’m in Southern California I’m excited for the chance to wear sweaters in the winter! Light weight sweaters are a must in my wardrobe right now, here are some specific styles I’m loving:
